about

One week into lockdown and Atlas was feeling motivated after our FB Live benefit for Kit Whitacre. He cooked up this beat, dropped some bars, and sent it over to Cash, Kit, and Tyler. In two days we put this together. Remember, this is all just a build up for #Grey Expectations. Stay tuned.

lyrics

Verse 1 (Atlas)
So when the world going crazy, I take it back to basics
Drum and bass laced with some sounds that are makeshift
Once the beat's cooked up I shape shift
Put my head down and write a rhyme not looking up til I scraped it
Every 16, go as far as I can take it
Push the outer limits, with no gimmicks or fake shit
Just throw the high heat, serving up chin music
Surgical with microphones -- laidback hypertones
Since way back, I straight snap on metronomes
Attack mode, I hear soul clap and I'm gone
That's the code of the emcee-producer
A lotta suckers fold beholding what they're not used to
But I seek the unusual
I leave a clue or two like breadcrumbs for all the fools who
Dare follow -- they receive the thousand yard stare
and enough hollows to fill a warehouse

Hook (Kit Whitacre)
It's real time we...
Ain't gonna sleep
Still workin...
Eight days a week

Verse 3 (Tyler Durdin)
Are you a sheep in wolf clothing
Nah I’m a wolf with sharp teeth
I’m known to bite without warning
I’m half bull shark, no bull and half beast
Burning holes in my clothes for every bar of looseleaf
That lies buried in my pocket cause ta ya’ll they too deep
You seem a bit queasy ya need to breathe deep
..Before they leave ya leakin with ya peeps who all sink
Wanna crawl cross the Atlas, to walk to left field
And every ball that we jack we hit too hard to reveal
All the thoughts you call madness or the flaws that we’ve sealed
In the vaults of the wackness where we lost and concealed
Confused with our existence insistin’ we all heal
But don’t listen to to the hits, cause we pitch the raw deal
( Ya feel) I know ya hear me you still believe that it’s all real
You influenced by celebrity, fame, and a quick meal
Got ya chained in a game where they makin you all kneel
While they writin the plays that break ya down til ya’ll yield
There ain’t no war and peace, you either wolves or sheep
Time to ride, I got my pack, and my core beliefs
